In the Catholic church, reconciliation is a ceremony, which involves different prayers made by the priest and the wrongdoer.


There is a day of reconciliation in South Africa, which aims to promote unity within the different social groups. 


It is also a holiday in Canada, to promote understanding between the indigenous peoples and the European settlers.


Some people liken reconciliation to medical treatment, but for your soul. In both instances, there is something wrong that is eventually fixed.


Conflict and reconciliation is proved to bind groups tighter than if conflict had never happened.


Conflict can be beneficial, as competition can spark innovation, creativity and industry.


There is an entire field of science devoted to studying conflict, its causes and how to manage (not eradicate) it.
